UniBar Adelaide, SA
DOWN & OUT + DRASTIC PARK (Vic) + LICKITY SPLIT + MUMS FAVOURITE
Down And Out are hitting the stage once more, this time to release their latest single, “Sidelines”. If you’ve ever wanted to tell your boss to go fuck themselves or felt that mix of anger and helplessness as you watch the latest batch of politicians get away with literal murder, head on down to the UniBar ADL where we’ve packaged economic and political angst into a 3 minute catchy lil bop to be sold back to you as a commodity! 😃
“But how will this actually change anything?” or “isn’t that kind of fucked up?” I hear you asking? Well, don’t think about that! Just try to enjoy the little time you have here. Do know what you want, all rules are made up and about 99% of those were just invented my rich and powerful people to justify and maintain their wealth and power. Isn’t that fun?!
But there’s one thing we can surely all agree on; music can be a temporary relief from this hellscape we call Earth. So leave that shit at home and come out and enjoy yourself for a few hours as we attempt to put on a nice show for you that makes you forget about how terrible everything is!
Drastic Park were born out of a love of the late 90s/early 20s punk rock/pop punk sound. Stumbling across a sound that mixes open octave lead guitar with thundering bass chords, they have been able to fashion a sound that is immediately identifiable as the "Drastic Park Sound".
After recording and releasing their first 7 track EP "Last World", with the likes of "Bother Me" and "Little Things" - which received critical acclaim from Short.Fast.Loud's Josh Merriel, they landed a slot supporting punk rock legends Antiskeptic, For Amusement Only and Seraph's Coal at The Corner Hotel.
When COVID slowed the music industry to a halt Drastic Park chose not to slow down, having just signed on new drummer Joe Larwood, and immediately following up with a second EP entitled "Imposter Syndrome", a DIY album that was recorded, mixed and mastered during lockdown. The EP, which premiered on Wall of Sound and was praised by Hysteria Mag & Blunt Mag, featured two hit singles "Feels Like Forever" and "Work of Art" that were premiered on Short.Fast.Loud. Since COVID ended, Drastic Park have played a number of sold out - shows, supported Epitaph signed DREGG, sold out two vinyl runs and have also gone on a co-headlined tour with punk/emo up-and-comers Clay J Gladstone (NSW) and Wolf & Chain (SA)
Drastic Park, often referred to as the 'social media kings" have a passion for engaging content creation, energetic live performance and recording catchy songs. They are hard working, determined, and ready to take on the world.
Lickity Split are a 4 piece punk/rock outfit from little old Adelaide, South Australia. Having all met studying the same music degree at the Elder Conservatorium of Music and graduating in 2019, the boys decided to join forces and Lickity Split was born. With influences such as Blink 182, The Offspring, Sum 41 and the Foo Fighters just to name a few, you can bet your bottom dollar that these blistering riffs and catchy melodies will get your blood pumping. 2020 proved to be a testing year for everyone, and the lack of live music opportunities resulted in excessive jamming and song writing to scratch the itch. With Connor (guitar/vox) and Jamie (guitar/vox) sitting around in lockdowns and avoiding the panic buyers, they managed to write a library of tracks, some of which feature on their debut ep ‘Daily Dose’, out on Spotify and on all streaming services December 10. Their debut single ‘Loner' was released on Triple J Unearthed in late November, and after a flurry of activity and some local radio spins, it was picked up a week later by the Short Fast Loud team over at Triple J and featured on their New Noise segment. ‘Daily Dose’ is just a taste of whats to come from Lickity Split, with even more new music coming out in the new year. So strap yourselves in and feel the G’s.
Mums Favourite can be described as the noise child of Led Zeppelin and Jeff Buckley. Their psychedelic blues rock tunes take you back to the 1970s with modernistic turns and twists in every song. The honey dripped lead vocals supported by wailing guitar solos and thunderous rhythm sections will have you screaming 'Mums Favourite is my favourite!' at their captivating and dynamic live shows. Mums Favourite newest single 'Joan Of The Arcade' will be out everywhere on June 3 2022.
