With an unprecedented demand for tickets, Melbourne Zoo has added three additional dates to its 2019 Zoo Twilights concert series.

A second Cat Power concert has been added to the event series on Sunday 10 February along with Hanson who have added a second show on Saturday 2 March that is heading towards a sell-out and The Cat Empire are set to play a third and final concert Sunday 17 February.

Setting the stage for Cat Power is Melbourne's own Jen Cloher, who's politically charged master songwriting has sound-tracked life in Melbourne for over a decade. Her self-titled 2017 record earned her both Double J's Australian Artist of the Year award and a position as a figurehead for Australia's DIY music scene.

"The response to this year's Zoo Twilights line up has been incredible," said Melbourne Zoo director Kevin Tanner.

"Just four weeks into the campaign, we have already sold over 75 per cent of all tickets available. That's wonderful news for the Eastern Barred Bandicoot, which is the focus of Zoo Twilights fundraising."

Tickets for Cat Power's second show will be on sale this Friday 16 November at 8 am.
